A Letter from Our New Washington Youth Choir Artistic Director
Dear MusicianShip Family,It is with the greatest pleasure and appreciation that I write to you as the new Artistic Director for Washington Youth Choir! After spending the past few years serving The MusicianShip in various capacities, I can truly say that the growth and development of the youth in all of our programs has been incredible. Witnessing such excellence has been inspiring! It is with no small degree of honor that I now accept the opportunity to play a larger role, to work among so many phenomenal educators, and to facilitate even more life-changing experiences for our students.I’d like to thank everyone for being so welcoming and kind as I step into this new position, especially Jeff, Amber, and Shekinah, who have been so helpful with the transition and the vision-casting for WYC.
A very special thanks goes to the great Greg Watkins, who has born this title with such honor, dignity, and excellence! I am standing on the shoulders of a true giant whose heart for our students will forever be unmatched. This current period in our nation and in our world makes vivid a fundamental truth: Change is inevitable. In recent months our entire way of life has been shifted and many of us still face very challenging circumstances, but with patience, wisdom, grace, and diligence, we will find that this season remains fertile. Together, I’m confident that our organization will thrive and our students will make us prouder than ever.
Here’s to a successful school year!
Sincerely,
John Kenniebrew, M. Mus.
